Foot Balance
FootBalance
_____
Footbalance is a dynamic, heat-moulded insole, designed to fit with you and your lifestyle, to promote good foot function and maintain pressure evenly across the foot. This can help to reduce corns and calluses, improve foot comfort, and help to support the joints throughout your body to give you more comfort throughout your life.
Please note, that podiatry practices have different areas of expertise, and as a practice we do not specialise in musculoskeletal problems or biomechanical examinations. However, these moulded orthotics can provide great comfort and support, realigning your calcaneum and holding your foot in a more functional position. If you require a complex biomechanic examination, we can refer you to local colleagues who can specialise in this aspect of podiatry.
Your Feet are the Foundation of your Body
_____
Often Pain and Discomfort Stem from Incorrect Alignment of the Feet. Custom Insoles May Help.
Everyone’s feet are different and often our own feet differ from right to left.
FootBalance’s foot analysis identifies your foot type, while FootBalance Custom Insoles are individually moulded to your unique foot shape. This supports them in a neutral position, aiding a balanced stance and correct posture.
Over 75% of the population suffers from misalignment such as overpronation or excessive supination. The effects can be felt throughout the body: whether in muscle and joint pain, or through more serious injuries.
Pain can be caused by poor foot alignment, which may in turn lead to uncomfortable gait patterns and impact overall body alignment. Symptoms may be exacerbated by poorly fitting footwear and insoles, which may press uncomfortably into the foot.
FootBalance 100% Custom Insoles are individually made to each foot offering dynamic support to your feet without excessive rigidity, providing improved comfort and pain relief.
In just 10 minutes we can carry out your assessment, and then mould your custom insoles on site at our clinic.
We do not provide in-depth gait analysis at our clinic, and do not provide a specialist biomechanical assessment, as we specialise in the many other areas of Podiatry (e.g. nail surgery, treatment of verrucae). Our Footbalance insoles are excellent for general foot comfort, general support, and easing of common foot problems (such as the problems described below); however if you are particularly active (in particular marathon running) then these may not be the best choice for you, but we can refer you to our colleagues at other practices to help.
We carry out a free pre-screening appointment prior to every Footbalance assessment appointment to make sure that this is the right treatment for you. This should take no more than 15 minutes of your time.
What Conditions can FootBalance help with?
_____
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis is the irritation and inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thin band of connective tissue running along the bottom of the foot. Pain is usually felt near the heel, but can also be felt in the arch.
Plantar Fasciitis can be caused by different factors, including foot arch problems, a tight Achilles tendon, a lack of support during prolonged standing, obesity or sudden weight gain.
The key to healing Plantar Fasciitis is to minimize stress on the plantar fascia so that the body can start to heal the inflammation.
Footbalance Custom insoles support your feet and arches properly in the neutral position, facilitating healthy foot function. This can help reduce the strain and stress on the plantar fascia, reducing pain and helping the area heal.
